Kimberley’s water load experiment

Kimberley did a 4 day water load experiment with a 1 day partial deplete and here are her pictures and results.  She ate at a maintenance level throughout the process and did not manipulate carbs or salt.  During this experiment she is at 17.3% body fat (by DXA).  This shows that even with just manipulating water, that you can significantly improve muscle definition, especially ab definition.  In fact Kimberley states that her abs sharpened up by about 30%…..even though her weight went up over 3lb during the process.

A water load and deplete is not much fun.  It is effective but be prepared to feel like you are sloshing, forcing the water down and getting up many times during the night.  It is more typical for people utilising a water load and deplete to drink minimal liquids for 12 to 18 hours before pictures.  Just sips of water and coffee ( a diuretic).  However you can see that Kimberley has decent ab definition even with drinking 1.5 litres of black coffee and water.
